Meanwhile waiting for the train, i'd thought that maybe I could share my current job experience...
Ok, so here goes. Haha, as I've mentioned on twitter that my current job is damn relaxing. Yes, no doubt. It's an office job. However, I would say that its sort of a informal office job. Why? I was asked to dressed formally on the first four days of the week, and on fridays, I can wear whatever I want. Despite the dress code, my colleagues weren't dressed exactly what you would call formal. I mean that's what I saw on the first day. I believe they are rather "loose" with the dress code so there on and after, I wear my slippers to work and bring my heels just in case. What do I do? From what I know or I think is, you can call it telemarketing. Apparently, this particular company I'm working for liaise with singtel, and its employees call customers on behalf of singtel. And, the customers details are given to us in the system. So basically we get customers to recontract and singtel will do the rest. But I'm currently still under training, will probably handle customers on my own tomorrow. So far I've handled 3 customers for a hands on session. I kind of screwed up.You can say its a "do a your own pace" job, but then you have a target to reach. You can take breaks in between too. Maybe the worst case would be that the customer curse and swear at you on the phone. Hahaha. Oh ya, initially I was very apprehensive about offering promos to customers cos its like personally, I feel that "singtel forever cheat my money say no need pay then later when the bills come you die of shock." But, I am pretty sure that this one is genuine one from what I understand. But what I learnt is next time if anyone calls you, pls clarify the t&c before accepting. By far, its the most relaxing job I've ever gotten. Pay wise, i'd say its reasonable. Colleagues and environment, I'm still familiarising. Yup, so overall its quite okay. Its a great experience as well, its marketing! I'll be talking a lot, so hey its a good time to improve my speech. Hahaha. So...I've learnt something. Now I know that singtel doesn't always take calls directly. They sometimes let their representatives do it. like companies. So that's all. I was bored. |
